The green iguana

The iguanas have an excellent vision and can see bodies, shades and movement at big distances. The iguanas use their eyes to sail across dense forests, as well as find some food. They have also certain visual signs to communicate with other iguanas.
The ear of the iguana is known as eardrum which is an external structure located next to the eyes, which actually does not process the sound, it simply transmits it to an internal ear that is protected from the water and foreign objects. It is a thin and delicate part of the iguana, and it is crucial for his audition. There are two types of lizard of the genre Iguana who possess a dewlap, a pair of thorns that run for the back up to the tail and a third eye in his head.

Common illness of iguanas:
Most of the pathologies found on iguana pets, that should be diagnosed and treated by veterinarians, are as well related to improper care of the animal.

Color changes:

A healthy iguana is green; specially when young.  Brownish and black colors can be consequence of improper environment temperature, over-exposure of UV rays and sometimes food poisoning. When some color changes are present, it is important to monitor this condition and adjust the temperature, UV exposure to the proper levels.

A young iguana pet with color variations trending yellow-brownish does not promise any good.

Metabolic Bone disease:

The precocious signs of this illness, which is very frequent in the young iguanas and in those who have overcome in little the year of life, are the following ones:
- increase of volume of the thighs and the previous paws, sometimes caused by the presence of spontaneous breaks of the humerus or femur, which can give the impression of which the animal has put on weight;
- distension of part or the totality of the jaw;
- distortion of one o more fingers;
scarce growth.

The iguana will show problems of movement that can come up to the palsy, muscular quakes or make difficult in the capture and masticating of the food.

Cutaneous Parasites:

In the skin (loin, gap of the sewer, armpits) of the newly imported iguanas it is frequent to see red or blackish points that move rapidly: it is a question of mites, which often gather together under the scales of the iguana and raise them.
In the nature, the red mites (hirstiella trombidiformis) are typical of the green American iguana, whereas the dark mites (ophionnyssus natricis) infect normally to the snakes; nevertheless, in the places of the importers, who often lodge to numerous animals in limited spaces, the mites move and it stop even on animals that normally they do not attack.

Blister Disease:
Blister disease is a common problem for captive iguanas. It is also known by a few other names such as scale rot, vesicular dermatitis, and necrotic dermatitis. This condition is usually caused by poor care.
The first order of treatment involves removal all rotting tissue and skin. This will be followed by aggressive antibiotic treatment. If you catch the disease in its earliest stages, you can soak your iguana in a Betadine solution once or twice each day. It’s also vital that you clean and disinfect the enclosure before you put your iguana back in it. It’s important that you clean your iguana’s habitat on a regular basis. You shouldn’t allow feces and urine to sit around. You should also remove any uneaten food on a daily basis.

Happiness Is in You

Regardless of your place in life, happiness is something everyone seems to be searching for. Mostly, we continue to look for happiness outside ourselves as opposed to thinking about how to find inner happiness. Whether through professional accomplishments or relationships, we all are guilty at times of searching for happiness from external sources. Maybe we want a new TV or car, even our careers can seem to bring us happiness at times, but any happiness we find from things outside ourselves is short lived at most. We’re always left wanting more.

When thinking of how to find happiness, think about what it’s like when you’re trying to buy a present for someone you don’t know very well. Sure you want to get them something that will make them happy, but it’s hard when you’re really not sure what that is; you end up guessing so to speak. Finding what makes yourself happy is pretty much the same thing; you have to really know yourself in order to know what you need to be happy.

The reason why we continue to try and buy happiness is because it’s easier. It’s much easier to purchase a new car or house than it is to truly look inside ourselves to see what we need to be happy. Most of us go through our entire lives trying to figure this dilemma out. Yet everything we need to be happy is already inside of us, we just need to learn how to find it.

There are many ways to find this happiness within ourselves. One is through counseling or some type of coaching such as spiritual or life coaching. Most people think that counseling or therapies are only for sick people, but that’s not true. Therapists are trained in helping us discovery what’s inside of us and thus things that may be blocking us from finding true inner peace and happiness.

Starting Early Retirement Investing

When we are already nearing the age of retirement, we can’t help but think if we are going to have a better future especially when you haven’t got any saving in your account. Most of us started working at the age of 18 or even earlier to support our needs and of course our family. We spend too much without saving any for the future. This kind of attitude would only lead us to a future with empty investment. However, it’s never too late to start investing for your retirement especially when you are still young.

Are you ready to get started? Early retirement investing is what most of the young workers neglect when they are starting to earn money. What they don’t know is that the earlier they invest the more that they will save when they retire. In some companies, there are benefits given to those workers at their office from the time they started until they retire. But this benefit will only last for a couple of years. When that is gone how will you move on? Well, the best way to start investing is by planning your future. You can start by at least saving an amount every time you receive your salary and as time passes, that money will surely grow and when you reach your retirement you will have an investment.

Another way that you can do is by investing in the stock market. Stock market is said to be the most effective way to increase your saving but this will probably work if you know how it is being processed. If you are interested on how it is being done you might want to study it first. You can seek for an advice from a trusted individual and seek for their help. Stock market could be the right place to invest but it could also be the wrong one since many fails to succeed in this process and ended with nothing.

You must know that retirement investing is very important to each and everyone, so, it would be wise to secure it in a way that we can use it in the future. Make sure not to become a victim of one of the investment mistakes.

Special gifts for kids on Easter

Easter is an exciting time of year for children, of all ages, as they wait in anticipation for the Easter Bunny to come to hide the eggs and leave them an Easter basket. It is also a time for you figuring out what to get the kids and going to the store trying to find a great Easter Basket. While the Easter Bunny gets all of the credit, you have to do the work. Don’t run yourself ragged thinking about what to get the kids for Easter. There is also no need to have to break the bank on store bought easter baskets. Here are a few simple ideas of some easter gifts for kids.

First, think outside of the box. You don’t have to spend lots of money on a premade Easter Basket filled with candy and junk that your kids probably do not even want. Making your own basket can turn out even better than the store bought ones and also be more personalized. They can be made from paper, a sandbox pail, a helmet for your skateboarders or a pretty bonnet for the little princesses. Try checking out a thrift store, or discount dollar stores, to see if you can find an inexpensive wicker basket and items you can put in it. For you older children, try using a laundry hamper, especially if they are going off to college soon. It can be filled with little things that can be useful when the big day comes to go away to school.

Also, you do not need to buy the plastic green grass to fill the basket. A couple of weeks before the big day, fill a basket with some potting soil and some rye seed. You will have real grass and it adds a great touch to your child’s basket.

Next, fill your baskets with anything your children will like. Plush toys, action figures and dolls are great for smaller children. You can also include building blocks, books or a bible as an added touch which is also educational. Children will also love fun art supplies and stickers. Individually wrap some homemade treats like rice crispy treats. For your older children, think about putting a gift card to their favorite store or cash. You may want to include more age appropriate items in their baskets such as scented soaps, hair accessories or their favorite comic book.

Easter gifts for kids does not have to be stressful or costly. With a little creativity you can create a personalized basket that they will enjoy and love. There are a lot of websites that will tell you how to make your own easter baskets.

The Illusion of Fear

We all experience fear. Most of the fear we experience is self-manufactured.  Like a shadow mistaken for a monster – it is not real but born of our perception. Think about this: most things you fear are things you imagine will happen in the future. Fear of getting in a bike accident, fear of foreclosure, fear of not being able to have kids… This is just your perception, and has little to do with the reality of the present moment. The human imagination evolved as a tool to imagine and prepare for dangerous situations, and it is an incredibly well-adapted tool. It is so powerful that many of us will base a good portion of our daily actions based upon those imaginary images we hold in our head. Fear shows up in your life as worry, stress, tension and anxiety.

Teddy Roosevelt said,”The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” How can you fully grasp this? How can you realize it so wholly that you can see the fear, label it and then let it go? The answer is practice, practice, practice.

Ask yourself: What is my true essence? What ARE you? Are you a body? A fragile body that is most certainly destined to die one day? We all know that we are more than just bodies, but that we are metaphysical spirits residing within these bodies.

Now ask yourself: What could happen in the physical realm that could ever diminish my spirit? I’m not talking about your spirit as in your spunkiness or self esteem. I’m talking about the divine being that you innately ARE. Realize that you are infinite and indestructible, and allow that thought to transform your fears into hope. Understanding this concept doesn’t guarantee a change in your physical realm, but may help you to accept your present physical situation as utterly impermanent.

In the religions of Buddhism and Hinduism, it is accepted that each being is on a journey of multiple lifetimes and multiple physical bodies, and death is viewed as a transition into yet another lifetime. Every faith-based tradition tells us that fear is transient and finite and posits the “light” of our being opposite those fears. Realize your inner light. Just be. You are infinite, and fear is simply your illusion.

Wise Quotes Usually Spawn Others

There are so many wise quotes that one person may read or hear in one’s lifetime.  Some are famous; some are what their mothers or fathers used to say time and time again.  These quotes are often observations of the human nature, how to improve one’s life, or to seek enlightenment on a new subject.

One of the best wise quotes ever written is found in the Bible.   “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned, forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.”
~Luke 6:37~

This one wise quote has had so many more come after it.  For instance “Those whom live in glass houses should not throw stones.”  Or “Hear the pot call the kettle black” And my absolute favourite “Those who complain about this generation should first remember who raised it.”

Another wise quote was from one of the greatest presidents of the United States.  “Good things may come to those who wait, but it is only the things left behind by those who hustle.” That President was Abraham Lincoln.  This would definitely have to be one of the wisest quotes ever.  President Lincoln was obviously trying to motivate and inspire the people of America.  When you think about it, this quote is incredibly true.  What will you get from life if you spend it laying about waiting for something to happen when you could go out and get it yourself.

One of the greatest of wise quotes also comes from the Bible.   It is one of the best quotes for someone to truly live their life by and create a truly good life for themselves.  The quote is “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  (Matthew 7:120)

No matter where you go or what you do in this lifetime that one very wise quote will get you everywhere.  To treat people as you would like to be treated will result in living a very happy life.   This particular quote has exploded into becoming many sayings.   For instance; “what goes around comes around.”  “You only get out what you put in.”    “You will attract more flies with honey than you will with vinegar.”  The list continues.

The best of the wise quotes is “evil prevails when good men fail to act.”  It not only speaks for itself, but worth keeping in mind.

Toddler Play Yard

When small children need to play in a protected space the play yard is the perfect option for parents and sitters alike.  It is amazing how quickly little ones can find their way into “trouble” so having a toddler play yard that is well constructed becomes a vital piece of equipment for every family with small children.

Play yards are manufactured and sold by most of the well-known companies in the baby equipment industry.  When shopping for play yards you can find Graco play yards or the Fisher Price play yard as well as many others.  The play yard, which seems to be the one, which is the sturdiest and holds the most weight is the Safety 1st brand.  These brands can hold up to 45lbs while competitors generally cap out at 30-35lbs.

Baby play yards are uniform across the industry, but still offer some additional features for consumers.  You can purchase a baby play yard with a bassinet, or a dome as well as adding electronic sounds.  These additions do not cause the price of these baby play spaces to increase much and may be worth their cost.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $79 to $300 for a play yard.  You will not find one brand more expensive than another will.  All the major brands offer a broad range of play yards with various attachments and a selection of prices to choose from.  However, if safety is your first concern you can expect to find the Crib Yard brand as the one with the best ratings and features.  Though this brand is not as well known as some of the others, it is easily the one built for those who put safety at the top of their list.  It has joints that cannot collapse, and anyone searching for play yards knows that collapsing joints are what parents fear and it is what causes most of the injuries for small children in these play areas.  If you get one that you know for sure won’t collapse, you can enjoy many baby events in the play yard worry-free.

Simple is Better When it Comes to Pool Toys and Floats

Every year the pool industry pumps out a variety of new swimming pool toys and floats.  It seems as though, with each passing year, pool toy companies are trying to reinvent the wheel and come up with the latest and greatest toy.  You don’t have to take my word for it, take a stroll down the pool toy isles of your local department store and take note of what you see.  Personally, I feel as though pool floats are just getting bigger and pool toys more complex.  It begs the question, who has time to put these things together and who has a pool big enough to hold them?  My point is this, when it comes to pool toys and pool floats, you really do not need the next “big thing” to hit the market.  You will find as I have you will get just as much enjoyment as the classic, meat and potatoes, toys and floats.  This year when you go shopping for pool accessories, keep a little money in your wallet and go with less complicated but just as enjoyable pool toys and floats.

When I go to buy pool toys and pool rafts for my pool I think about functionality.  In other words,  are these items that I am buying going to be easy to use or are they going to take an hour to set up and break down?  In most cases, the items that do not take a lot of time to set up are your best options.  I know that people recently have been going with the more complicated stuff especially when it comes to swimming pool floats.  Gone are the days when you bought a flat inflatable bed and had it in the pool within twenty minutes.  Now, floats are not so simple.  Many have additional plastic and foam parts that require assembly.  The fact of the matter is that while these floats may look more impressive they do exactly the same thing for a lot more money.  I would be as bold as to say that most of the time these pool toys and floats only last about one swimming season anyway.  So why pay more for something you are not going to use that often?  In my opinion the way to go when it comes to pool toys and pool floats is simple and cheap.
