Control Negative Thoughts

Many people suffer due to negative controlling thoughts, and yet some find it hard to break free from this crippling disease. But there is a way out and one does not have to be ruled by negative thinking for the rest of their life. First of all we need to realize that we are the sole masters of what we choose to think, this is the first realization that we need to come to grips with. Once we know this truth we can then move forward with our lives, if we think that our thoughts dominate our lives then that is exactly what will happen. We let these negative thoughts run rampant until it gets to the stage where we believe what our thoughts are telling us. there is a simple exercise we can adopt to counter these thoughts so they have no power over us. First i will let you know what happens when we think negative thoughts, for that is where it starts, with a single thought, we let that thought in ,and then we believe it to be true, and once we do that we are then overwhelmed with negative feelings, that is when we have lost the battle, once those feelings kick in. So to counter this , try this exercise, find a quiet comfortable place take slow deep breaths close your eyes and just imagine you are watching a movie on a big screen , and on that screen is all the negative thoughts that have ever bothered you in your life. Now the trick here is to look at those thoughts pass the big screen and not to pass any judgment while watching them, just observe them as they are and you will eventually realize all the rubbish that has held you back for so long. Remember the key is not to associate yourself with the thoughts you see just be an observer and the more you practice this technique the less control those negative thoughts will have over you.
