As public companies are making money from the World Cup, which is being watched by billions of people and is very commercial? What are their ticker symbols and stock prices would actually affected by the World Cup?
The World Cup is a great sporting event and therefore attracts many companies worldwide. In terms of profitability, I do not think many businesses are profitable, as a result of the World Cup … It is more a marketing ploy and hopes to boost advertising revenue and sales … and said … that companies look at are: Adidas, Nike, Mastercard, Yahoo, Fujifilm, Gillette, Avaya, Deutsche Telekom (which is T-Mobile USA), McDonald's, Toshiba, Emirates, Hyundai, Avaya, Coca-Cola, and Philips, to name a few.
